Terrible Two

Calum is really wanting to be independent these days. "Let my do it" is constantly coming from his mouth. This morning, he and James had a disagreement about who should plug in the decorative Jack-O'Lantern - Calum insisting "Let MY do it"...and James trying to convince him that electricity is dangerous. Fortunately, Eilidh distracted him by saying "Do you want to play ballerina?" and then they danced around the room.

We're waiting for Eilidh's first tooth to fall out. We wiggle it a lot each day. Speaking of wiggling...Calum wanted to try to use the little potty today just as I had undressed him and wanted to change his diaper. He climbed up the stairs (naked) and said "mom, look at my bum-bum. It's wiggling".

Unlike other bloggers, most of the time there will not be a theme to my postings. Just random thoughts and stories. I can't seem to put it all together like real writers do!

Silver Bells and Glitter Bugs

Inspired by the blogging of I, Mollie - I have decided to start a blog to chronicle some highlights of the kids' childhood. I'm not good at scrapbooking, and I have done an abysmal job with baby books. Hopefully I can use some spare moments to share some of the precious and not-so-precious moments of Eilidh and Calum.

I named the site Silver Bells and Glitter Bugs. Eilidh is in Kindergarten and loving it - learning so much each day. She thoughtfully turned to me one day and asked "how many silver bells are in my name?" I told her that I had no idea what she was talking about. She said, "You know...you tap it out. Ei-lidh. There must be two silver bells in my name!" (Syllables).

This morning, at the bus stop, Calum saw an empty MacDonald's bag and cup that had been thrown on the ground overnight. He pointed to it and said "Glitter bugs".
